Imagine a mix of two games — Quake and Worms. Blend them in your mind... If you were able to handle it you’ve got a really creative imagination like the author of the Soldat has.Soldat (it will be «Soldier» in English) is a freeware game by Michal Marcinkowski, Poland. «It takes the best from games like Liero, Worms, Quake and Counter-Strike and gives you fast action gameplay with tons of blood and flesh», — says Michal about his creation.
Well, you wouldn’t believe... but it’s true. The game is trully 2D (like the Worms) but it causes same adrenalin rush as Quake does.
Soldier figures are tiny and 2D, but it does not make the gameplay worse. Same old kill’em all concept and familiar game modes: deathmatch, pointmatch (about the same as deathmatch), capture the flag, teammatch (team deathmatch), rambomatch (capture the ultimate weapon (rambo bow) and try to hold it).
You have 10 weapons to choose from. My weapon of choice is Barret M82A1. It’s a sniper rifle designed to pierce tank armor. It is overkill to use it against people. But who cares? This rifle reloads very slowly, but 100% lethal effect is guaranteed. One shot — one kill.
Soldat supports multiplayer game mode (as well as playing against bots).

I gave the game 5 eyes award. It’s a full-featured freeware «pocket-size» Quake and it’s as addictive as «big Quake».
