Icy Tower
Yo, dudes! Are you ready for the superjump?Icy Tower is a cool freebie for you all. This game is small, simple yet addictive. The main (and the only) character in the game is Harold the Homeboy who decided to climb a huge tower. You help him jump from one platform to another, getting higher and higher. When Harold falls off the screen the game is over.
Harold will never reach the top because the tower is of infinite height. So the point of the game is to get the highest score possible. There are two ways to play Icy Tower: to jump gingerly from one floor to another getting 10 points for each jump or to make risky and high combo jumps that give you extra points.
Hints from the author: «The first thing you need to know is that Harold will constantly accelerate as long you move him. The second thing is that the faster Harold runs the higher and longer will he jump. The third thing is that you can bump into walls, turn around and maintain most of your speed. This is a useful technique if you want to do cool jumps».
To enter the combo mode, you will have to make a jump at least two floors high. Run with Harold until you have enough speed, then jump and land two floors above to where you started.
When in combo mode, the meter in the upper left corner of the screen will fill up and drain within one second. In order to stay in combo mode, you need to make another jump of at least two floors. If you manage to do so before the meter is empty, the meter will be refilled and you can continue doing combo jumps. When the meter runs out or if you make a non-combo jump, you finished your combo and you will be given score depending on how many total floors you managed to climb during your combo.
One more gem of the game is the soundtrack. It’s the funniest thing I have ever heard. Unfortunately, to keep the game file small, the sounds are low-quality by default. So I strongly recommend that you download a bigger (and better) sound datafile from the game’s homepage.
My personal Icy Tower score is 3120 (252’nd floor) for now and I keep working on it.
